Arnold Air Force Base- Airplane Hanger

This project was located on Arnold Air Force Base in Tulahoma, Tn. This job lasted over 6 months and was 3 hours form our home office and included our employees to stay weekly in motels, not something we do a lot. Our crews provided total station layout of all reinforced concrete footings, piers and foundation walls. We did laser guided gravel placement and constructed a special slab designed for moving under extreme loads produced by the large aircrafts that would be using the hanger. The slab was installed in long strips and connected with smooth dowels to allow movement Also included in this project was a large rail system set in concrete to guide the huge hanger doors. Outside work included a water tank foundation and several heavy duty skirts and stoops.
